    Wasn't a flat lobe

Where in the above statement did i say i want them to fork over 1000$ ? By make this right, i mean they should supply me with a replacement set of pushrods, this one failed for reasons unknown. If i word it right i might be able to swing a full roller set of rocker arms, surprisingly the full...

    Wasn't a flat lobe

Comp cams, to my understanding they are quality... I'm calling them on monday and going to see if they will make this right, this pushrod ended up costing me 850$ for the truck/trailer rental to get my car the rest of the way to SC from PA, + 200 in gas for the truck. If they can't make i right...

    Wasn't a flat lobe

Well, i finally got time to tear down my olds 403 and see what happened, i thought initially it was either a flat lobe/bad lifter, and that it was my fault. Guess i was to quick to place blame... The pushrod failed.... Cam was fine, still going ahead with replacement, lifter was ok too...

New cam in my olds 403

Jet, if i went with that lunati i'd have to get another Torque converter so that's a no go for now, thanks for looking though i appreciate it. I think i'm just going to run the comp cams for now and be happy with it, i can pickup the RPM performer intake and start setting money aside for the new...

New cam in my olds 403

Thanks for the input guys, for the time being budget is an issue so i have to run my current manifold. I've heard allot of talk about the RPM intakes, i'll definitely keep it in mind. As far as the thumpr cam goes, i had no idea what a "thumpr" cam was, i thought it was just what comp cams...

New cam in my olds 403

Everybody on there and other places on the net say the Mr.gasket ultra seal 3's are the best, but they are not available anymore. The only place i can find a set is orielys auto parts, for 44.95$. I've read good things about the SCE Accuseal intake gaskets so that's what i'm going to use. They...

Need some help on he fly, pontiac fiero

Ok well a few days ago my brother bought this piece of sh*t 1986 Pontiac fiero as his daily driver, crapped out 48 hours later. The main issue is that this puts BOTH of our jobs in jeopardy and i JUST moved to a new area. The car is an 86 pontiac fiero with a 2.8L, the problem is that it went...

    Big trip tomorrow

Alright guys i made it, but i had to rent a truck and tow her :( I made a stupid mistake when i built the engine, i went past the preload on cylinder 7s exhaust lifter when i broke the cam in, and it wiped out a cam lobe. I caught the problem early, about 100 miles in to the trip i heard a tap...

    Big trip tomorrow

Hey guys i'm leaving from PA tomorrow and moving back to SC, driving my monte the whole way. Wish my luck! It's roughly 800-900 miles, guess those 2.41 gears are somewhat of a blessing now :P We'll be taking i-77 S instead of I95, my wifes driving a geo metro with a 3 speed and that little...

Wasn't sure which forum to put this under.. I've got an 88 Monte Carlo SS and i need a speedometer cable, but i don't know which one will fit my car.. It splits into two parts near the master cylinder before it passes through the firewall, the upper portion is what is short but the lower isn't...

    top speed calculator, accurate?

Wow lol. Yeah GP my top speed in that calculator was way out in spare somewhere, i think it said 236 mph. Roger, with my old setup (SBC 355/ 700R4 3.42 GR) i topped the speedometer out at 115MPH and kept going for another 1000 RPM and it got scary, the car felt kind've squirrel-ish. Are there...

SBC PROBLEM!!! Ran but now wont turn over by hand...

You can use the flexplate/flywheel to rotate your engine, everybody always forgets about that lol. Use gloves. I would take everything belt driven loose like pontiac455 said, one of the belt driven devices could be holding it up. But to be honest with you, it doesn't sound like you drove it...
