Hello,
I don't think that the '70 model has the similar console form factor. To better understand how it all fit in my 83 GP, I'm attaching some pictures. The first picture is the original console (burgundy colour) and the rest are from modifications that I made. The important point is that...
Hello,
Here are some pics of my original install. The MSD ignition box was fittted inside the console. The coil was mounted behind the big block on the firewall, right above the transmission case. I used the rubber feet that came with the coil -- some Rivnuts on the firewall, then mounted the coil...
Hi! I hope that I'm not "in left field" with this reply. I'm not sure if you're looking for headers for a G-body or are you very specific to the make and model. I have a 1983 GP that is outfitted with a big block and I've installed Hooker Super Competition headers (#2241-1). They came...
I've been using CTek on two cars for over 10 years. These cars are not driven over the winter months (Oct - Apr). In my opinion they are really good battery maintainers.
This topic has been very interesting to follow. I'm in the process of changing fuel tanks and this is very timely! BTW, I've found two pics of the vent behind the filler neck, which is what my plans are.
Ok guys -- you're twisting my arm! If it would not be much bother, can you be so kind and let me know what parts you used to make this work. I checked the site and they have literally thousands of parts. I know that my hood is heavier (it's the original metal one), but if I know where to...
Great car and very nice pics! Thanks for posting. I've got a question for you regarding your hood hinges. Are they custom or off-the-shelf? Sorry if I missed that in your build, but I've been looking to change my original hood springs and these look very nice. Any info would be much...
I use the Wilwood Adjustable Proportioning Valve (#260-8419) on my Disk/Disk setup. No leaks so far. Make sure you tighten nice and snug. From experience, not tight enough was my problem when I started fitting brake lines.
Pretty close to what I did! Bought some steel stock; drilled the holes; primed and painted -- voila! Nothing complicated about that brace -- it's just there to tie the rear forks together, nothing more. Just makes the rear frame stiffer.
If it's just for cruising, then you don't need to stiffen the car with solid mounts. I'd replace the old, worn out mounts with brand new rubber. You might be tempted to go the poly route, but I found that it's not really required. A nice rear stabilizing bar and one up front will certainly...
It depends how stiff you want your ride to be. Will you be dragging? cruising? slalom? That would be where I'd start -- define the reason for your ride and go from there. Solid body mounts are great, but there are drawbacks as well. It all depends on your answers to the questions. You'll...
