I got the manifold part. There are small 1 to 1 1/2 inch pipes in the head that it mates to. Thats what im after. I should have been a bit more clear haha.
Im doing a stock build. It would take from the originality if i took it off, plus it functions fine.
I have been working on my engine and at some point in time I lost a part. The part I lost is the part of the air injection pipe that sits in the holes in the head. I only lost one. I was wondering if anyone has the correct name for that part, or maybe a part number, or maybe even that part...
This thread is kind of dead, haven't said anything for a year. I seen a grand national with a newer gm cd player in it 95-02 radio I believe, I decided I am going to do the same thing to mine. I plan on tinting the windows this summer too, maybe a little exhaust work to fix my exhaust job that...
Thought i was on to something. Guess not. Its narrowed down to cyl # 6. I cleaned all my lifters and inspected. I get more oil in the heads now. But the noise is still there. Heres what i did. I removed the spark plug wire from cyl # 6 and the noise was gone. What do you suppose that means?
I didn't remove the flexplate. I did pry on it. I pulled the rockers, pushrods, and lifters out. I dissasambled a few lifters and found everything intact. I dissasembled 4. Intake and exhaust on 8 and on 6 the ones from 8 popped up upon removing the clip. The ones from 6 did not i had to tap...
95% sure its the lifters. I pulled rocker arms and pushrods on 8. Noise still there. Removed 6. Noise went almost away, Still very very faintly there though. Shut it off and it sounds like something rattling faintly
Haven't done much with it lately. But i did take a recording of the sound and showed my boss at work (he use to build a lot of race engines) he thinks i wiped a cam lobe or possibly broken push rod, rocker, lifter maybe. Something in the valvetrain. This weekend im going to do another tear down...
We have not read actual oil pressure. They did not run it. They herd it run in the car. My gauge has always been correct, im awear it could be wrong, but i think there would be more noise with poor oil pressure. They think its a lifter not priming. Im going to remove the intake and valve covers...
Got it in and running. Same knock. Flex plate is ok. I listened to it again. It seems only to be slightly off idle if you hold it there its the loudest.
He didnt have an explination. Said it checked out fine not sure what we were hearing. Maybe a lifter wasnt priming. He was pretty worried about the lack of oil coming out of the head when i had the valve cover off. But they researched it and i guess thats common and normal for this engine to not...
