Is there a issue with S10 spindles vs. ones made for a Gbody

Re: Is there a issue with S10 spindles vs. ones made for a G It pretty much is the same - but the center link is shorter on the S10

    Floor Jack Brand Advice?

I had a Craftsman that lasted about a month before failing. I would have exchanged it, but Sears didn't have one like it; so they just refunded me my money. I went down the street and bought a Big Red 3 ton jack at the Pep Boys. It's still working fine 4 years later.

Best BUDGET Fuel Economy Combo Advice

FWIW - MPG is highly related to your engine rpm, so putting in a 3.73 most likely won't be a good thing. My wagon had that same 305/2.56/200 4R combination, with an electronic Q-Jet. Best I could get was 20 mpg, averaged 17 mpg. But the engine would bog at highway speeds; the car was gutless...

Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway bars?

Re: Were F41s the only cars to come with factory rear sway b Why not just bolt it on and see if you like it? It's only 4 bolts IIRC; you can always take it back off.

    mass backing carpet

Agreed, get the mass backed. It shouldn't interfere with anything, I know mine didn't, and I think you'll be happier with it.

    45MPH /200r4 / 2000 RPM?????

Unless you have 19" tires, something is definitely wrong. My wagon has 215/ 60 X15's (about a 25" tire), a TH2004R, and 3.73 rear end. At 2000 rpm and in OD, it's doing a little under 60 mph, about 58 or so. In third gear at 2000 rpm, it's about 40 mph

    I think I'm done with Sears/Craftsman.

I bought a Craftsman breaker bar 5 or 6 years ago, and it bent -badly- the first time I used it, which was later that same day. It was made out of some soft metal. Silly idea, I mean it's a breaker bar! I took it back, got my money back and picked up a much better one at Autozone, which I use...

    hoods

I haven't tried it, but I don't see how the 78-80 hoods would be different. I just saw a 79 Malibu with an 81 front end on it, and the hood fits fine.

What Kind of Oil Do You Use?

I guess it really depends on how you use your car. My cars are all daily drivers and I've used Castrol dino for many years for all of them with no problems yet. I change the oil every 3-5k depending on how the oil looks, and really don't worry too much about the filter brand. 81 Malibu -...

    Camry Accord or Legacy

My favorite is the Subaru, but you're not going to go wrong with any of those three. Let the wife drive try them out and then get the one she likes the best, regardless of her reason. Like you said, happy wife, happy life :D

    Olds 260 questions

I had one in a Cutlass Wagon back when these things were new, and I despised it. Floor it from a dead stop and it would wait about a second before it moved; providing quite a bit of entertainment when crossing a busy roadway. The only plus I can think of is that I tried to kill it again and...
