    245/50R17s rubbing in front

I have 245/45R17 in front with 2 drop spindles and stiff springs, 17x8 wheels with 4.5” B.S. They rub as well. I had considered going to a narrower tire, but I’m told by one of the vendors on this site it’s a camber issue as g body cars don’t have negative camber under compression, and if I...

Electric Vacuum Pump Install - Brakes Work Again

There is an integrated pressure switch on the vacuum pump that regulates pressure to around 20” of vacuum. The kit included a tee fitting and check valve that I didn’t use. I routed the line from the pump to the reservoir which has a check valve on it, then from the reservoir directly to the...

Electric Vacuum Pump Install - Brakes Work Again

This looks like a great setup as well.

Electric Vacuum Pump Install - Brakes Work Again

You are absolutely correct, I don’t know why I waited so long to resolve this issue. It should have been much higher on the priority list. It takes a couple of seconds to hit 20” of vacuum when you key the ignition after it has been sitting for a while, then once there is pressure the pump...

Electric Vacuum Pump Install - Brakes Work Again

I thought I would post this in the event it can help someone else with the same problem. Before modifying my car years ago I replaced all the stock brake components. The car then received a 400 sbc which only produces 10-11 inches of vacuum at idle. The brakes were horrible so I added a Summit...

    Low vacuum at idle. Solutions?

I just went through this earlier this year, I am only pulling 10-11inches of vacuum at idle and ended up getting an electric vacuum pump in addition to a vacuum tank I had installed a few years ago.

    8.8 swaps - who's done them

For those of you that have done the swap, what method of welding is acceptable to shorten axle tubes, install coil/shock/control arm mounts? Is this MIG or stick only, or could it be done with flux core?

UMI lowering springs; still suck? UMI or another brand?

As mentioned here, every car is different and there are so many variances. My car has a glass hood and aluminum heads with AC. When I decided to lower my car I went with 2” drop spindles and 5660 springs in the front, in the rear 1.5” CPP drop springs which were closer to 2” on my car. I ended...

    REGAL Need new tires

I tried to roll one side with the Eastwood tool. It didn’t turn out good at all and cracked the paint and distorted the panel. Now it’s going to cost me some money to fix it properly…

    Vibration and Steering Clunk

I will check everything for play in the front end. When I had the safety done about 3500km ago the front end was good, with the exception of the idler arm which I replaced. The rear shocks are new as well as the old ones broke when I pulled the rear axle to have new gears, posi and bearings...

    Vibration and Steering Clunk

I wondered if my tires were parts of the problem. Although they have plenty of tread, they have been on the car for years while it sat in storage with the previous owner, and another two years when I was having bodywork done.

    Vibration and Steering Clunk

Hey guys, looking for help tracking down two issues. I have a vibration in the car somewhere that starts around 65mph and becomes more noticeable as the speed increases. Does this sound like a driveshaft? I had the driveshaft balanced a few years ago. Vibration is still present if the car is...

Holley Carb Tuning Problems --- Help

Update: I pulled the motor and confirmed that it had the wrong pistons from the get go, the machine shop I dealt with installed the KB 126 pistons, giving me only about 9:1 compression when I had asked for 10:1. The Patriot heads have several valves that don't seal properly. And finally the...

Holley Carb Tuning Problems --- Help

Do you think it would have detonation issues going with higher compression than 10:1? Say 10.5 or 11:1?

Holley Carb Tuning Problems --- Help

Timing was all in by 3000rpm. The Hyfire 6A box I have does not have a rev limiter. It is a POS. I haven't heard back from Mallory yet on exactly what is defective. I had the same engine issues with the old HEI setup too.

Holley Carb Tuning Problems --- Help

I am going to be raising the compression, just not sure by how much yet. I don't want to have high compression that needs a cam that is too big to bleed it off.
