Piggy backing off another thread. I had seen two t-types in a GM high tech perf mag with Baer brake systems installed. The kit looks interesting and modern. Has anyone utilized them with their own application?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to upgrade the master cylinder , etc. , since you'd...
Stock as opposed to my lincoln which has a ton of suspension goodies the Olds handles like a station wagon. Understeer/Over steer , wallowing , sloppy steering response.
After I have a better idea as to what my tire size will be (ride height) I was wondering what my options are. A friend...
Its hard for me to make a decision because I'd love to put somethin a little more fuel economical into my 83 Olds. For a while I was considering something fuel injected but squashed the idea. ttyperocket - what do you get for gas mileage with the 455? Horsepower #'s ?
Theres a definite...
With MAACO and Earl Scheib I've always been told to slip the guy who actually paints your car $20 so that he takes the time not to overspray. My buddies have all gone down the MAACO/Earl Scheib route and have had some pretty interesting applications.
If I were you I'd find a good local shop...
I had a GM High Tech Performance catalog with an awesome set of T-Type/Grand Nationals featured.
Both guys used Simmons F Series wheels. I went over the Group A Auto site and noticed that they sell these wheels in 17"-19". So my big question is fitment?
The Group A site has a ton of GN's...
Re: source for parts
Thanks to the both of you for the info. I'll check that site to see if they have a lid. You know you'd think for a best selling car(as mentioned) there would be a larger aftermarket available.
Its shame because the rest of the trunk is in great shape. You think the rust would spread throughout ? I guess I need to address it since I'm in the process of scouting a paint color.
Any sites online that offer trunk lids?
Thanks
Re: More on 83 Olds Cutlass Engine swaps
Thanks for all the info.
Joe,
Totally correct in saying it is a Buick V6. The crate engine I had installed was a souped up V6 . I ran into a ton of problems because of non-existent smog controls, EGR etc. From what you guys are telling me I...
I bet you haven't seen one like this at work

I'm not sure about the "swappability" of certain interior pieces. I swapped parts out of an 87 Olds Cutlass into my 83 and they didn't match at all.
Parts I swapped were the pillar moulding that runs around the Opera windows all head roof moulding , rear window deck from the plastic to...

Do carry allot of weatherstripping parts.
Besides actually finding a donor do which is pretty hard around here , is there any site online that sells Window Dew sweeps for an 83 Olds Cutlass Supreme?
Thanks
I noticed that there is a dime size rust spot surfacing around the Oldsmobile emblem on my 83 Olds. I opened the trunk reached into the cavity behind the trun and found its rusting from the inside out. Is this something that could be addressed and permanently stopped professionally ? Or would a...
What do these Landau/carriage tops run? I've seen a few people mention on the other forums that an auto upholstery shop would charge $200-400. The GM parts site claimed that a replacement top runs around $1500 ?
Currently have an 83 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2D V6 231 3.8L that is absolutely immaculate. About 4-5 years ago I had bought a rebuilt V6 stock replacement , that supposedly came with a bunch of goodies(or at least so I thought). Wiped the cam twice and here I am.
Since I already have a 300+HP...
