I like the idea of keeping it Olds. Saw a rat rod advertised locally, was expecting to see the run of the mill sbc, instead it has a ..(Gasp).. Pontiac motor..Go figure...refreshing now and then to see something other than the cookie cutter sbc's that seem to grow on trees.

They have a pretty nice warranty.. supposedly will stand behind it even if raced..We'll see about that if things go boom.

I'm using seats from a 1993 GMC Jimmy. Had to tweak the seat tracks a bit.

Just had to mock them up. Junky tires and wheels going back on until paint is done. Was not ready to buy wheels just yet, however a deal came along that I just could not pass up. This will actually set me back for a bit, but they sure put a smile on my face just looking at them. Weld R/t...

Here we go, 1st pic is without the Jeep shaft before the I pulled it back out to have the "flats" machined, second is a later pic with the Jeep shaft.

I'll try to get a pic tonight, it's already installed, but you'll get the idea. I think '78s are the only ones with the splined shaft.

I'm using a '78 column with the Jeep upgrade. Had to have two flats machined on the column side in order to fit the double "D" end on the Jeep shaft, no biggee. Hindsight..I probally could have just grinded the flats myself, but the column is a rare manual trans w/tilt column and I did not...
