That’s like the GN in storage for 10yrs on YouTube…kept dying. They replaced all sorts of things on the engine and spent hours trying to figure it out, thinking it was an electrical/sensor issue and turns out it was a clogged pick up.

Quick update, found it and there’s now two or three small cracks in it but they’re about 1/8” drop or less, 1/16”-1/8” across, really small. Be pretty easy to fill in…

Might have one that’s brown if you’d be interested…need to find it/dig it out but it’s that same style, would only need to be painted to match. It’s complete with no cracks, car it came out of has 58k original miles. PM me if interested and I can send you some pics.

I watched all those vids…great stuff! Really great to see him get it out and resurrect it. It’s in great shape, couldn’t believe the condition of the interior either. Can’t wait to see more from them with that one. I’m glad he got the GN wheels back on it too.

Yeah, I was assuming it was a 12V source. Yeah I was assuming it was from a straight 12V source. ELCAM said it best, if it goes through the computer than that may be another story. Can you measure the voltage at that pin, or maybe even the current?

Let’s hope not. This is one of the nicest GN restos I’ve seen in a long time and using a TT v6 is a refreshing take rather than a LS or turbo LS. Those wheels too just give it that GNX vibe. And also a t-top car…very well done, it’s brilliant.

From what I can tell from a Bosch-style relay diagram, I think the 85 and 86 need to be swapped? 85 should be grounded to close the internal relay switch circuit. 86 should be connected to the “on” position of the switch you’re using to close the main power circuit. Sorry for not being more specific, It was the metal inner fenders, not the plastic ones. Think my problem was I was holding the can too far. I was holding it about 10” away but the stuff inside didn’t seem to like that…

200r4s are great but remember v8 torque curve is much different than a turbo 6. Main parts to watch are input shaft and gear sets. Make sure you set the OD & kickdown cable properly too or you’ll fry your clutch bands. I believe the same goes for 700r4s. One thing too you can swap 700r4 guts...
