    I Bought Some "New" Muscle

Yeah. I'm thinking it needs a Corsa exhaust and a cold air intake soon.

    I Bought Some "New" Muscle

A lot of you guys might not remember me. Some of the guys who've been here for a long time might. I have an '86 Monte that's been sitting in a garage for 5+ years that I just don't have the space to work on at my new place. So, new place, new job, I decided that I wanted a cool car that I can...

    What Have I Missed Lately?

Most of the knowledge I had was pushed out by trucking BS. Hopefully I can relearn something important someday. Lol

    What Have I Missed Lately?

Apparently I'm essential now. Lol. Which I think loosely translates to expendable but I can't prove it. I'm driving a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia. Working for May Trucking Company until I get my first year in and then I'm gonna look for something better. I have a couple of leads already.

    What Have I Missed Lately?

Seems like the McRib is a pretty divisive topic around here. On that note, I've already had a couple since they came back out.

    What Have I Missed Lately?

If anyone was wondering (I'm sure they weren't) I'm still alive for some reason or another. I don't check in much anymore. I'm on the road driving a truck across the country delivering your food and beer. Your welcome for the beer. Just thought I'd say hey. Maybe I'll get lucky enough to find a...

    Working thru corona virus

I'm doing OTR all 48 states right now. I've been from Tennessee to California and back in the last few weeks. I'm wanting to go local after I get some experience. I'm enjoying seeing the new sites right now though.

    Working thru corona virus

Fair point. It's nice not to have to deal with all of idiots right now though. I passed my solo test Monday and I'm on the way to pickup my truck today. It's a 2019 Frieghtliner Cascadia. It should have pretty low miles on it.

    Working thru corona virus

I just started working again after 2 years of staying at home while the wife worked full time. Been on the road driving a truck across the country for almost 2 weeks now with a trainer. I'm supposed to solo out in a few days and get my own truck. If there's anything good that's came of this...

    MONTE CARLO Drive Shaft Loop

Looks clean to me. If the bolts are engaging properly and everything else is in order, I say run it. I'm envious. I can't wait till the under-carriage of my car looks that clean (which may be a couple of years). Good luck with the project.

    Forgotten but Not Gone

I figured you had accumulated a few stories over the years. All of our instructors were former drivers and they all had interesting stories to tell. I think all of the manual transmission trucks that the school had were 10 speeds. Hell yeah on being able to work just half the year! One of the...

    Forgotten but Not Gone

First of all, thank you for your service. The school I went to was also a 3 week school. It was a a lot to squeeze into 3 weeks but they do a good job. All of the staff were "real world" experienced and easy to get along with. For example the guy who taught us to drive on the road had 30...

    Forgotten but Not Gone

In a way I think it was easier learning to drive the truck without having to also learn shifting at the same time. I didn't realize how much more concentration it takes to drive a Semi truck vs a car. Once I get 6 months of driving experience and go take the manual course I'll already be...

    Forgotten but Not Gone

Over 30 years driving, I bet you've got a lot of stories you can tell. I've heard there's pretty good money in the oil fields. I'm starting out OTR pulling a reefer. The company I'm going to only asks for a 6 month commitment and I've noticed some better paying driving jobs listed that would...

    Forgotten but Not Gone

$50 an hour?? Wow , that's good money. Right now I've got an automatic only restriction on my license. The company I'm going to runs an all auto fleet so I'm fine for now. In 6 months I can go back to the school for a few days and take a manual trans course and get the restriction lifted...

    Forgotten but Not Gone

I quit working for a while to be a stay at home dad. It was fun for a while but I eventually got bored sitting at home. The wife has a decent job but she can't afford to pay all of the bills and give me money for car parts.... Put the 2 together and I decided to go back to work. I wanted a...

    Forgotten but Not Gone

Definitely good advice. We actually watched that video in school as an example of what not to do.

    Forgotten but Not Gone

Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely not gonna use Google Maps for truck directions. I plan on getting a Rand McNally Truck GPS and an Atlas. I've heard several drivers say that Google Maps is great for scoping a place out before you get there so you have an idea of what it looks like and...

Thanks. Sounds like good solid advice. I'm guessing you're a driver?

    Forgotten but Not Gone

Hey guys, if anyone was wondering, I'm still around. I still have the "Poor Man's Monte Carlo" and I'm still living in the same place (for now). Over the past few months a few things have changed. One of the biggest things to change has been my profession. I went to truck driving school the...
