Radio HELP ! 81 cutlass Calais

The radio fuse(s) will be under the driver side dash. They should be labeled; you can narrow down the issue with a test light or multi meter. If you are unsure of which fuse to check, just turn the key on and touch a test light to both ends of every fuse - if you find any with power on one side...

Should pink wire to distributor be 12v or higher?

Yes, I saw it, but don't recall the Caprice. Did you get a new battery? Also, have you checked the voltage at the battery while cranking? And it is cranking, correct?

So pretty much wrapped up the rest of the stuff I wanted to get to in the shop. Air lines are complete and the lift has a removable cover.

Building a new shop from the ground up

I went with a 9' ceiling on mine as well. With my car, I can max out the lift and still have a little space between the roof and the ceiling. The total height of the lift at max height, not including the lift itself, is 48" - if it was not recessed into the floor and you drove over it, total...

Building a new shop from the ground up

thanks! The main drawback on this lift is that access to the transmission is limited, but with the space I have a 2 post would just be in the way. I might look into tall jack stands if I need to do transmission work. In the meantime, the next time I remove the transmission will be with the motor...

Building a new shop from the ground up

I like the vent duct tape idea! I will do that on mine. Since I was having this built and they left it in studs, I just insulated the whole thing before I did the sheetrock. I lucked out on the heater - got that thing free from a good friend years ago. It sucks down power and I had to wire a...

Building a new shop from the ground up

Thanks! The heater is a must have for sure. I have the water source in range so I will be adding a swamp cooler this summer or the summer after. I also insulated the walls and attic space - I just need to do the garage door. I have a 3 car attached to the house that I will use to park cars and...

Building a new shop from the ground up

Mostly for personal safety, but I am thinking of making it sturdy enough to roll a car over it just in case I need to do that. I left about an inch of space all the way around to be able to mount a steel lip for something to sit on - like a steel plate. In addition, the lift pads should also...
