I was one of the people that refused to buy a new car for well over a decade until a few months ago. I'm not 20 anymore, I work too much and reliability issues aren't' something I have the time and patience to deal with. I also commute 20 miles each way.
I almost abandoned my GP for an '06 GTO...
I was wondering where you got $1050 as well. Here's that link to Ram Air Restorations too. http://www.ramairrestoration.com/rm-1-os-d-port-ram-air-style-factory-headers-oversized.html
I have the d-port RA manifolds, not the round port RA IV. Haven't spoke Pontiac in awhile! I got them from R.A.R.E. and they weren't exactly cheap either.
There's a lot of things at play in my opinion. The abundance of good running, used, carbed engines isn't what it used to be and a quick swap for a displacement boost isn't as easy anymore. Some people face emissions that won't let them run big blocks transplants either. Fuel injection and LS...
Fwiw, if you happened to get a set of perches from a big body car it will significantly raise the engine. I may stand corrected, but I thought the f-body and g-body perches are slightly different as well. The last headers I knew of for a g-body with a poncho mill were made by Maddog Headers...
Nothing has been done yet. All the suspension is fresh so there could be a lot of variables. It just seems as though the tires stick out quite a bit more. I'm going to continue to button things up and see if anything changes before jumping to conclusions I suppose.
Damn man that sucks! I'd say contact the District Magistrate again since you've already begun the paper trail. Any legal action will be based on documentation, so push until something gets done. Get the whole neighborhood on board if you can. It's really too bad that you can't just whoop...
I appreciate the compliments guys. Normally people think the '78-80 GP's are ugly and I'm fine with that! I'm going to finish buttoning up the fenders before I look into changing parts. There's a yard nearby with 4 Blazers if I need spindles.
Thanks! Yeah it has been awhile. Just busy with work, recent house and buying guns again! Springs are stock but supposed to have a 1/4" shorter installed height than a stock SS or 442 spring. The fenders aren't 100% bolted on so that might not help it either.
I trying to see if there's any...
Other than the holes for the shafts in 4wd spindles, does anyone know if there's any other differences in track width or anything else? I currently have the Belltech drop spindles and now my track width looks wider than I'd like. I've recently read that these Beltechs increase your track width...
I dated a chick when I was stationed out there and the first thing her mom said about my SS is that it was a gangster car. She didn't like me because of my car....at least I wanted to believe that!
