if you're replacing the floors because they are rusty, either Tremclad (or Rustoleum as you call it in the US) would be fine, POR15 is intened to go over rust. As for rockers, you should really be replacing inner and outer if either is rusty and that's the reason for replacing... also, when you...
if you have a mig welder.....
make a jig with the factory xmember, mark where the duals would go, then cut pieces of 2x3 box steel or something similar for the body of the xmember, and a 8x8 square piece-cut it in half and use each side as where the duals go, weld it all up in the same...
in my Cutlass, I have 3.5" kicker coaxil 2way in the front, stock 4x6 rear -they arent damaged yet, and for when I want bumps I put my 2 10s in a bandpass with a 650watt monoblock amp. Controlling everything is a new model Sony mp3 cd player, I quite like it as a head unit actually. Just buy...
BAH, I live in the city, I dont run a spare or a jack. It's a lot of extra weight for gas milage when you have CAA just a call away. But I probably should have a jack, the one that came out of my 84 was a scissor style.
Yeah I very nearly bought welds for my Cutlass too.. $600 for 15x8 rear with 275/60, and 15x5 fronts. But.. I'm broke. Didnt know the wheels werent on it, if it's too much work to mount the other wheels on dont worry about it, I thought they were already on it.
mineral spirits will do the job. in the shop its called "spirit wipe" which is essentially the same thing. Silicone on anything is a nightmare for painting. call up a body shop and ask if they have armor all, i bet you $1000 they dont.
Try looking on cardomain. Cragar makes a nice all black wheels, as well as US wheel. Look on Summit, theyre cheap. Olds SSII wheels would look good too. For racing I'd go with a lighter alum wheel though.
Make sure you get a wax and grease remover, if anyone's ever armor-all'd anything, there's silicone everywhere. Other than that, I've seen an ENTIRE interior changed from blue to black and it looks great, all used with SEM products in a spray gun.
