Been working on the cluster today. Figured out all of the vehicle side wiring and labeled it.
Tied the harness for the cluster into the vehicle wiring. Need a 194 bulb socket for my parking brake light, and the pigtail to plug into my VSS on the trans and that should be it! Everything else is...
My guess is both actually. Most guys at shops are mechanics, and not technicians. They replace parts, not follow procedures and diagnostics. Hence why many go by how many ugha dugga's, instead of using a torque wrench. That and a 7.5" doesn't like abuse. I've killed many of them.
This is a loaded question and you'll probably get both yes and no answers.
What ride height do you want? Will the tire be tucked inside the fender lip? Have you taken a tape measure and actually measured from the edge of the frame to the inside of your fender lip? It going to be about 10.5"...
Another update. I stumbled across the matching RideTech front sway bar for sale on FB. It was in NJ and the guy wouldn't ship. But I wanted one when I bought my front suspension and just couldn't swing it. Then they stopped making that style. Figured it was time sh*t or get off the pot. So...
Tony you use those bumper plates to weld a tube to, which in turn ties the frame rails together. The bumper is basically floating on the bumper shocks so no it doesn't help.
In addition, I don't think we're ever happy with our cars, except maybe Donovan LOL
Thanks Tony. I was going back and forth about the bolts... do I get a single piece wheel for a smoother look. How would each actually look on the car? Finally just had to pull the trigger and make a decision. In addition, I actually bought 5 wheels so just in case one gets damaged, I have a spare.
Been waiting for 2 MONTHS to post this!
Today was the day I've been waiting for! I hinted in my post the other day that I had new tires and what was I going to mount them on. Well, these are it!
I realize they are very similar to my old wheels. I really didn't even want to replace the old...
I have RideTech. I didn't need drop spindles. I haven't touched them since they were installed. Don't skimp. Buy once, cry once. RideTech shocks are made by Fox and have a million mile warranty. You can't use stock lower control arms with coil overs. Rear metal is fine, it already supports the...
Thanks D, I'm excited too! The lighting in the old cluster worked, but was horrid at night to see the gauges. Every time I pulled it apart, all the lights were working, but once back together it didn't seem like any were. Not sure if the ribbon film that provided power to them was causing...
Been spending some quality time in the garage lately. Lots of updates to come in the next few weeks. Here's the first.
Decided it was time to start pulling the doors off the car in preparation for the new ones to be hung. Fairly simple process, although I completely gutted the drivers door. I...
Nice clean car! I'm in NY as well. I have never seen, or even heard of a stick shift Regal. My father ordered one brand new '78 and he was pi$$ed that it wasn't even available as an option. Can you show a pic of your steering column where the key is?
