Has anyone put a 255 tire on a 15 x 10i rim with pictures? I'm wondering if it looks stretched. also if anyone running a 10inch wide rim without a frame notch i think a 5in backspace would work. i just mocked up a 15x10 rim with a 5 1/2 back spacing with no tire on it and it was 1/4 off the chassis i was completed surprised. this is on a 83 cutlass with no mods done.

I run a 15x10 with a 275/60 without a frame notch - 84 MC. My backspace is not relevant though because I don’t have a stock axle width.

I run 275s on a 15X10 on the back of my wagon. It does have a notch. Personally I feel a 255 is more suited for an 8" rim. 275s fit perfectly on a 10.

15" 255's on a 9" wheel. They would def looked stretched on a ten.
275's are a nice square fit on a 10" wheel.

the part I'm unsure of is if anyone put 15x10 with a 5in backspace without notching the frame

Give me a few and I'll post a pic. 4.5 BS seems to be the sweet spot. About 1/2 inch from the frame. Didn't rub with the 275/60 Nittos( nitto tends to be on the slimmer side ).

i already bought the rim 15x10 with 4.5 BS and it did not work. i ended up returning it. my friend has a 15x10 5.5 BS and it was 1/4in off the frame and had lots room on the fender side so I'm assuming if i did a 5in it would work

Disclaimer: My experience/images are with/on a Malibu.

I put an 18x 9.5" wheel w/5.25"bs on the stock width 7.5 housing under my 78 Malibu Classic. It fit w/minimal clearance when just doing the initial check. There was enough room behind the bare rim edge for my finger/s @ its closest point.

Included is a 2nd image of where it is @ the fender lip. The lip on the car is already trimmed about .375" (just beyond the spot welds). I was converting to LS1/f-body rear discs which would push it ~.250" farther away from the frame. But, more clearance on the inside yield's interference sooner on the outside edge.

Ride height will also play a variable in the 'will it fit' game. Stock height cars can allow you more wiggle room vs the same car lowered.

FYI - a 1/4" of room is plenty as long as your upper a-arm bushings aren't worn out or you don't plan on filling the back seat with 3 fat people.

edit - 1/4" of room from the tire, not the rim.

I have 15x10 5" BS wheel vintique Pontiac Rally with a 275/60 Drag radial.

I need to run a 1/4" spacer or the tire hits the frame. The wheel clears fine. Even with the spacer I have a clean spot on the frame where the tire rubs when the tire shudders and wads up.
