Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 1986 monte carlo ls and im looking to put a 15x8 wheels all the way around the car. I want a wheel and tire combo that gets the wheels outside the wheels wells some kinda like a nascar appearance if you will. Anyone running this type of set up? what backspacing and tire size is required to accomplish this stance? I have attached a photo of a car i found on youtube but there were no tire or wheel specs available, but it is the look i am after. Thanks in advance.

If they are outside the fender wells then they are going to rub. If the are going to rub then my vote is 15x10s and 295/50s all around.

I had Vette rally’s on my Malibu all around. Once I lowered it they rubbed like crazy. I think you can fit them better on a Monte

500/600 you got me thinking now. i wonder what backspacing would be required maybe something like a 2 or 3 inch?

'Standard' 15x8 Vette Ralley wheel BS is 4" so you would need that (or less) or a wider wheel.

A guy on my IG is doing 15x10's w/4" of BS on his MC. It required cutting & stretching the fenders & the last images I saw the tire was still peeking out in the front. His car also had 2" spindles + 2" dropped coils so I knew there was no way it would work w/o serious cutting.

His wheels had 295/50's mounted (26.5" tall).

I don't personally know the guy but here are some images of what he's doing. Not my cup-o-tea but there's a different seat for every @55....

Looks good on the rear but I agree way to much work on the front fenders. I have no desire to lower my car the stock height works well just want the tires sticking out but might require a 8" wide front and a 10 in the rear.

I think when they said "Rubbing is Racing" they didn't mean the tires on the wheel wells.

The black wheels in those images are 10's. The pic w/the purple wheel on the rear is the 15x8" wheel.
