I am looking for soem rims for a 1986 Monte Carlo SS. I want to run 275/40/17 in back and 245/45/17 in front. I am having a hard time finding nice looking rims. I dont want chrome. Was looking for maybe black, grey, or silver. I wnat at least the rear to be 17x9 or 17x9.5 for the wide tires. What rims is everyone running? ANy brands that I should really look into? Thank you.

For a 9.5" wide wheel. 5.25" backspacing works best. You WILL need to notch your frame in the rear I went to the seam and have plenty of room now, maybe a inch or so. In the front you will HAVE to run taller upper ball joints and a bump steer kit to stop them from hitting the inner fender over bumps.

Don’t know what your budget is, but I had an outfit in Michigan widen mine. 9.5 in front and 11 in rear. Total cost for the wheels and widening was cheaper than the custom wheels in same configuration. The only downside is they can only widen to the inside on aluminum wheels.

i run 2002 camaro ss wheels - see my avatar. they are 17x9's with 275/40's. you will need to run 2-1/2" spacers though.

I got a set of torque thrust style wheels with 17x8s front and 17x9 rear with 245 front tires and 275 rear tires. They are black with polished lips. That I've decided to sell there new tires and new wheels never driven need them gone so I can upgrade to 18s gta mesh wheels to fit c6 z06 brakes on my malibu.
