A friend of my mom, owns a 1978 T-top light blue metallic with white leather seats and door panels, blue carpet, dash, etc. She ordered the car in April of '78 and got it in august. She says it has 79 trim on it, which I don't really know the difference if there is one. I don't know much about these cars, but its a beautiful car that has been sitting in her garage collecting dust for God only knows how long.
She has tried to sell the car a few times over the years, but she wont sell it to someone who is going to modify it. She knows I love the car, in its current form, and she keeps telling me to make an offer. I have told her I'll give her $5,000, which I doubt will take it at this point.
The body is mint(the piece of trim at the bottom of the drivers window has a ding but she has an NOS piece to replace it). The drivetrain is all original, the interior is clean, but some of the white trim has yellowed a bit over time. the gauge cluster is one like I have never seen, I assume its a Rallye package, but I don't know, it has a 6k tach, all the gauges are round. can anyone tell me what it might be worth? I'm a Ford guy 😳 (Four eyed Mustang and Capris mostly), but I really want to grab this car up while I can, and keep it bone stock. This is certainly the kind of car that I could put in ANY show and come out with the first place trophy every time! I have the Vin number for the car, I don't know if you can decode them at all, like the fords. But I will post it up and see if I can learn anything about the car.3K47H82488473.
I have pictures on my cell phone, I can't post them up because my computer is junk... they aren't the greatest pictures, because the car was in the garage with a dead battery

Thanks for any info you can give me!

The car could fetch around $10G to the right buyer, maybe more. However, if you can get her to sell it to you for anything under that, you will have yourself a deal. I wouldn't hesitate if she ok'd 5, 6, 7 Gs... from what you describe, it's worth it.
