Nice! I was about to ask what color you were going with. I'm dreading going down the paint and body work road. Looks pricey...

One of my friends works at Feeny which is where the car is and he is doing it.

They made me a deal since they are slow this winter. Otherwise it would have waited until I had the whole thing together and running.

Updates. New body mounts, only 1 broken bolt extraction, fixed the hole in the heater box from the first engine test fit.

I know what you mean. I nudged the heater box with the valve cover on my 78 many years ago putting it in and put a 1X1" window in the box.

Made some new bumper mounts, good friends with home made computer controlled plasma cutters. Made this look easy.

Been a while since my last update. I work myself out of parts and order more but here is the general status:

Harness is modified and installed, ecm is set for stand alone start up will likely need fine tuning.

Bought the hooker down pipes that attach to the manifolds but had to lengthen the driver side 2” to get it to clear the factory shifter linkage so the column turns.

The engine is stock so it started right up, had a few leaks, mainly due to not having lines plumbed and connected all the way. Pulled out about 3 wires from the factory car side harness, the rest are used.

Next is getting the core support and radiator mounted so full plumbing and wire cleanup can happen.

How far does the CTSV oil pan hang below the frame? Can you share a pic? Just wondering why you didn’t go with the Holley set up. Nice build! Keep us posted
It’s about 1/2” maybe 3/4” at most. I have an uncle that works for a GM dealer so my all in price was much less than the Holley pan.

Also using Sphon mounts and based on the countless hours of research, I found that most recommended the CTSV pan.

I did have to remove 2 mounting bosses on the driver side of the pan, other than that all worked well. I had received got some conflicting information that the Holley Pan was not compatible with VVT engines that retained the VVT option. So in the end I chose a GM pan that was designed for all their systems.
