My name is A.J. I recently purchased a 1978 Monte Carlo. I plan on LS swapping it and I’ve already bought the motor and a few other parts. I’m just curious to see pictures from anybody else that’s LS swapped a third gen Monte. Thanks for reading.

The swap is the same across all G-bodies. You need mount adapters and an oil pan. The SUV pan and truck pan will fit, but hang below the crossmember. The SUV pan is minor - about 1.5”, and the truck pan is literally too low imo to run in the street. You can buy a pan such as a Holley, but it’s a $300 gig give or take a few bucks.

After that, the sky is the limit depending on your goals in terms of appearance and performance. I can speak if budget, function over form situations (also known as CHEAP ;) ). The truck accessories, water pump, power steering pump, alternator and associated brackets are easy to mount with a stock g-body radiator. None of these are the most asthetically pleasing, but then again, neither is an LS without thousands spent in covers and billet bracketry.
Good luck 👍

New to the forum.
Do a little searching.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel - its all been done. But please ask when you're not sure of what to do or where to head. Many here that will help - gladly!
