1980 Malibu. Putting on some original Rally wheels. Who can advise on what are the correct trim rings and center caps.

Should be the star style cap with the orange/red and gold Chevrolet bowtie in the center along with a brushed beauty ring as shown in the first picture.
Personally I like the look of the polished beauty ring..

GM Parts & Illustration Catalog shows both the revolver style wheel top hat center caps (p/n 464962) and star wheel center caps (p/n 14009835) were used on 1980 A-bodys with RPO ZJ7 Rally Wheels. You could go with either you prefer and not be wrong. Frankly, I think the revolver wheel is more prevalent on the 1980s. See if you can see any 1980 Dealer's Brochures to confirm what was typically used on Malibus other than wheel covers. Sorry, I gave away all my '80 brochures many months ago.

Found a picture in the Standard Catalog of Chevelle 1964-1987 by John Gunnell and Krause Publications.

The 6 window rally wheel that used the revolver style center cap was only on the El Camino for 1980. The new for 1980 star style wheel was used on the Malibu, Malibu Classic and the Monte Carlo.
The 1980 9C1 Malibu also used the 6 window wheel with the 73-77 Chevelle SS/Nova "Bell" center cap. I had a set of the 9C1 wheels and centers on my 79 Monte Carlo.

I have two, 14 x 7". Southwestern condition. LIkely from an '84 Monte Carlo, or perhaps a Camaro, as they have 83 Kelsey Hayes date stamps. A lot of variation on these era wheels. 14 x 6, 14 x 7, and Fifteens on S-10s and Baby Blazers.
