You will be happy when you hit the go pedal and there won't be 4L70 junk parts lying on the road stranding your family somewhere. Cross member looks good. What gearing are you running behind all this power?

Thanks! LOL... I was close to putting a 200-4R behind there.

The gearing is 3.73 with a 28" tall tire. I have a custom spec FTI converter waiting to be built. I am going to need it to foot brake low (~2700rpm) for good driveability, and flash high (~3600-3800) to overcome the gearing - after that it is just a locked-up triple disc away from being efficient out the back door. The ultimate goal is to have a Grand Touring car that runs 10.9s. Is that asking too much? I don't think so.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Confirmed the output shaft length and ordered some stuff.

So the converter should footbrake 3000-3200rpm, will flash 3800-4200rpm (peak torque dependent), and will have zero slip with the triple disc engaged. 10.9s here we come.

The Sonnax slip yoke will fit the output shaft spline length nicely with a 5.38" barrel length - just need to remove the o-ring from the yoke cup seal (only required for a bolt-on yoke).

I had to pull my 80e pump out and put a sunnax line to lube valve in. After I put a converter in it acted really strange. Locked the verter at idle going down the driveway, would stall when coming to a stop, and would drag the lockup for a second before it would flash like it's supposed to.

Would have been nice to know about that before I went to all the trouble of putting it together the first time.

Interesting. Here is what I am doing: http://www.jakesperformance.com/wp-...1/Recalibration-Kit-Instructions-12222016.pdf
