Changed out the complex spring set up for a set of single springs from the front of a 98-02 LS1 F-body. 292lbs/in linear rate. Had to chop 3 full coils off to fit the Speedway hats and get the car down to 27.5". A bit higher than before but the car is getting a hitch installed soon and who knows what that is going to weigh...

I imagine there are a few folks questioning the choice of such a high rate rear spring, and then proceeding to cut it. The latter definitely raises some valid points when you look at the math: https://www.eatondetroitspring.com/cutting-coil-springs-calculations/

The thing that must be kept it mind, and was a massive oversight on my part when I altered my plan, is how much heavier the Dana 60 differential and tire/wheel combo is compared to stockish stuff. That is a lot of inertia to manage.

Combined with a hollow swaybar I may not have over sprung the rear; especially once I move up to some MOOG 5664s (probably going to get chopped too) from the 5660s currently in the front. Again, a similiar issue exists up front with the weight of the tire/wheel choice.

The grim reality is this car ended up a lot heavier than I initially envisioned.
