Piddling in the parts book, ran across a picture of an 81 AM47/AR47 (Supreme/Calais) front end ornamentation diagram.

The hood appears to be for a Turbo application....Maybe? I cannot find any info on the molding (#1). It's not shown in that group in the parts call out either. This is the only known information about this oddity. Other than the molding part number was listed as discontinued 12/81.

Looks like a bolt-on or stick-on hood bump, either way. #4 is a body side molding, and #5 is a rocket emblem.

I don't recall a Turbo back in 1981 for a Cutlass A/G body. Or ever. Anyone else heard of this?

So my carb turbo Cutlass is kinda factory approved :)

Doesn't surprise me, with turbo regal and turbo Monte setting a cutlass only makes sense.

Cool!

Just like the '70 Monte Carlo convertables, made it into the printed books & canned days if not hours after production started (only 3 production cars were built, sold to execs.) Somewhere there has to be one floating around.

Never heard of that one. My guess is that it was a possibility for production but got axed before any were built and the parts made into the book but were never actually produced or available. But that's just my best GUESS.

It was a proposal for the 1981 442. They wanted show case a tubo 5.7 diesel attached to the new 200-4r 4spd auto with od.

Problem was, 442 stood the the number of feet the motor would travel before the head bolts stretched.

With the offset turbo scoop it kind of reminds me of the 81' turbo Montes
