Judging by what I saw in the video, the parts that go on the inside and outside of the firewall should be pretty much the same for all of the divisions. I can also see that there will be some variations in compressor mounting, due to engine type (Chev, Olds, Pontiac, Buick), and location of belt driven accessories, thus some variations in refrigerant hose length and fittings for the same reasons. Should the routing of the ductwork behind the dash be pretty much the same for the different styles of dashes (Chev, Olds Pontiac, Buick)? I'm thinking it would be pretty close.

I finally got my evaporator kit from Vintage Air delivered today. This is Vintage Air part #565083 which is just the evaporator kit. I won't know anything about the compressor, lines or drier as I have an F-body TPI serpentine belt setup on my car and didn't need that stuff.

Anybody got any questions or need pics of anything before the wife makes me throw it out in the garage?

How about partially installed? This car is very much a work in progress. I've got plans to do a trunk mounted battery so my power routing is going to be custom instead of the intended route of through the firewall and to the battery. Car doesn't even have any other wiring in it at the moment. I've included a couple to show the clearance to the new dash brace and where the glove box hinge mounts to. I haven't done more than just test fit the vent adapter as I need to fix some cracks in the dash but everything seems to be in order there.

Some things to note for those wondering if other G bodies can use this. There does seem to be enough power and ground lead length to get to a battery on the drivers side. The only bracket that was changed is the one in the pics that mounts from the firewall to the passenger side of the radio area. The most important thing that makes this Chevy specific seems to be the included vent adapters. As simple as they are, they can probably be fabricated pretty easily out of some thin gauge steel.

So nice I want it bad. But I’ll likely just rebuild the stock one for now.
