When driving, the intake should be as cool as the ambient temps, give or take 10 degrees. The blow through helps though - a BUNCH.

Love the short pull vid. You need some more though - boost is just darn silly fun :):) I know alot of guys love their NA builds and 300-500HP is nothing to scoff at, and I can appreciate that, but........................................ :

I just watched an Engine Masters episode involving intake temperature; it was very interesting. Turns out that fuel temperature has an impact on HP moreso than air temp, so those old school cool cans for the fuel line were actually beneficial.

From my understanding, the fuel in a blow through setup acts like meth/water mix in a meth injection system. The fuel takes heat energy from the air to fully atomize it due to the pressure - a Boyle's Law thing lol - when changing states. It's the reason most all blow through builds really don't need an intercooler.

I wouldnt doubt it! It takes energy to get the fuel from a liquid to a vapor, the colder the fuel the more energy required. The energy comes from the air in the motor, dropping the temperature of the air.

All I know is after driving it NA on gas I could never hold my hand on the intake after a long drive. I could touch it, but not hold it there. On E85 I hit it with a temp gun and the temp was just under 90F!
I will definitely get a better video next time when I have a passenger. It is hard making a pull and holding a camera lol.
My favorite part of this build is that this was a "dime a dozen" hot street motor. It is a 406 and not a 350 or 383, but NA it made some where around 425-450hp (ran 117mph at 3500lbs). There is a million 425-450hp sbc hot street motors running around the streets everywhere. You can buy motors making similar power to mine from Jegs, Blueprint, ATK...ready to go. I slapped a blower on it, a fuel system, an excellent carb, and E85 to take care of the compression problem, and it went from a hot street car to an animal.

So far the only draw back to the blower has been that the race valve is VERY loud at cruise. It is bypassing ALOT of air and it sounds like a street sweeper cruising around.

100%
I would never run an intercooler on a carb car. I would either run e85 or just lower compression enough to not need it. It is so nice to have such simple packaging without one. Besides an air to air is no good for the track.

Well, had some issues with the car going super lean at the end of a pull. I saw some stuff in the fuel filter when I first changed it when I redid the fuel system for the Procharger, so I drained the tank and took a look.
This what the type of flow I was getting from the -8AN feed of the AEM 400lph pump

This is what the feed from the tank and inside the tank looked like

You said your race valve was opening a lot and I thought I heard it in the video as well
It's supposed to be open at all times, except under load.
