1983 Hurst olds engine color

Hi experts,
I am in the process of bringing my 307 up to date.
I have noticed the intake manifold appears to have been painted black behind the carb toward the distributor.
The valve covers also appear to be black.
Is black the correct color?
I appreciate your feedback.

Black is correct. Intake to oil pan.

Digging up old H/O information stuff from Thunder and Lightning articles, it says the code was PPG 99A black, to be specific.

Although the only 99A I can find is DuPont 99A, which is, indeed, black.

I've always used stuff like VHT low gloss black engine paint. Works well. JMO.
