Went to race at the Showtime Speedway 1/8th mile track, first hit something didn’t feel right. Pulled over to check of something broke underneath the car, I didn’t see anything leaking or dragging. Car felt like it was on a wave, and only had one tire fire.
Took it apart at home, found I sheered the spool! I guess I measured the axle length incorrectly.
You can see only about an inch of teeth engagement:
Time to get a longer axle and new spool!

Jinkies, that sucks! What are you using for axles?
