Ordered this off eBay, my old one was broken and said "Kega"

Any idea what those gray nubby things on the back are? They look like they'd interfere with tape. Do they have something to do with gluing it to the taillight lens like the original was?

Sorry I can't answer your question but I have always just swapped the 81'-83' style tail lights for the 84' and up style with no emblems..

I've thought about it a few times... But the money people want for those now, especially the ones with black trim. Figured I'd just work with what I have for the time being.

Don't tell anyone, but I actually think I like these lights better than the newer style... That all could change though. Lol

i can't speak to the purpose of the nubs but if you're concerned about tape adhering, trim them flat with a razor, clean the plastic with something that won't leave any residue like rubbing alcohol or a wax and grease remover.makes sure the tail light surface is as clean and a little heat on both parts rite before you stick them together will help.

Mainly wondering about the little nubs, they look like they might line up with the marks left behind from where the factory emblem was fused on.
