Hey all-- just wanted to start a build thread on the progress of my H/O. You may have seen my first post on the new member area, but would like to share the entire build somehow. Here are a few of the things that have been done...
Build started out with moving the rear frame rails in 5-1/2" per side to fit the massive 335/35ZR17 Billet Specialties wheels (Chicanes) and tires. Front tires are 245/40ZR17 but will eventually go to 275/40ZR17. Added rear wheel tubs to accommodate them as well. Used a 4 link and sway bar set-up from Art Morrison in conjuction with the 9" Ford from Quick Performance for the rear. We also installed the GNX rear seat brace which the body shop used their Pro-Spot to install rather than the multitude of bolts and nuts that come with it. Up front we used tubular control arms from Global West, 2" drop spindles from Bell-Tech, huge Hotchkiss sway bar and frame tie bar, 4 wheel 4 piston calipers and rotors from Wilwood (dynalite). Also installed a quick ratio steering gear and steering shaft from Detroit Speed. Car has had 2 rust free doors, new floors, NOS trunk lid I scored off Ebay, and front spoiler from Lauren Engineering (mine was always missing from the day I owned it). We ended up adding both spoiler tips in the rear as well. The antenna, door locks, and trunk lock have all been shaved. I bought a windshield from Safelite with the antenna built into the glass. Car came back from the body shop a rolling shell. I have spent the last couple of months painting/re-dying the interior. The carpet, back seat, dash and all of the associated wiring is installed. I have assembled the wiring in both doors and rear sail panel areas. The full roller 496 Olds should be here in May sometime from Bill Trovato (BTR Performance). I have plans also to give a call to Art Carr for a full blown bulletproof 200 4-r as well. I will try to post progress reports as I have time. Thanks for looking. Aaron

Nice car. IMO, H/O's are definitely worthy of the time, effort and money you've put into it. Do yourself a favor and check out CK performance or Extreme Automatics before you spend money on a 2004R. Art Carr is certainly respected in the world of transmissions but I don't think they are leaders when talking specifically about the 2004R trans. I have an Art Carr kit in mine which works OK but would have gone somewhere else.
