hello, new here....bought a 85' Buick Regal 3.8 4 barrel. Get the car up and running only to find out it has a bad trans. If you put the car in drive the trans starts to chatter and bang when it shifts. If you put in 1st and change the gears manually it'll act fine. Not sure what's going on with it but my question is, I have a 4l60 and a 4l60e laying around that are both good tran's. Is it possible to bolt one of those trans' to the Buick 3.8?

what transmission do you have? If it a 200 R4 is the TV cable adjusted properly?

I don't think they put a TH 350 behind a 6 cylinder, are you sure it's not a TH 200?

Not a 200-4R, probably a 3 spd 200. 4L60(E)s aren't fitting directly w/o new or modified crossmember and driveshaft, and the 4L60E needs a computer to control it.

Are there even any 4L60's (700R4) or 4l60E's out there with the BOP bolt pattern that will bolt up to the 3.8? Is there such a thing?

I doubt it, the BOP engines were not made when those transmission showed up except for the 700 4R but those were used mated to chevy engines
