Hi Guys,

I have a local guy wondering if the 60/40 split bench pillow seats from my 87 cutlass will fit into his 4 door bonneville? I am not sure looks to be about the same as the 4 door cutlass...that buying said are the seats interchangeable? Fronts and rears? He really just wants the fronts but is the rear the same on 2 door 4 door at all? Any first hand experience I don't deal in 4 door g bodies only 2 doors so I am trying to give the guy a straight answer if I can. Any help would be appreciated.

Thx DZ

If his car doesn't have either split bench or buckets, he will need to add the inner brackets for the 60/40 seats.

The coupe seats have folding backrests, the sedan/wagon seats do not.

Rear seat cushion will fit, not sure about the backrest portion.

They should bolt in (front) and snap in (rear), no problem, coupe to sedan. I can't remember the exact way that the rear seat pops out, but I thought it was a clip that wraps over the reinforcing rods on the seat base and back. Don't forget that the split bench needs the inner seat mounts same as bucket seats....

Thx Guys he does have 60/40 so tracks should line up then. He told me he thinks the Brougham cutlass "pillow" seats might feel better as he is not comfortable in his stock 60/40 bench.

You do think for sure that they are the same in width etc?

Its Not a big deal but I never thought about the coupe having the fold forward feature vs 4 doors not but it makes sense and I don't think he would care about that. Thx

There shouldn't be a problem. I swapped the seats, front and rear from an 82 Regal into my sister's Le Sabre. The rear seat back is held in place by clips at the bottom and the top should slide up, off of a lip IIRC. I did this somewhere around 1998 or so, and can't quite recall. But it was the first time I removed seats and had no issues getting all of them to fit like they came that way.
Good luck and have fun.

Front seats and the rear seat bottoms will fit 100% as long as the seat tracks are there for the 60/40 split vs the bench. IIRC the rear seat back may stick out a little on the sides because of the pillow top. But it will fit. We swapped a full 2dr GP interior into a 4dr 'bu
