Found this car when looking for my first car. I've always appreciated American cars with fine body lines and v8's. This car needed a water pump, new alternator, battery, and regular tune up.

Car is running a little rich but still gets up off the line quick. Motor is a 307 engine, 4 speed automatic. Miles is around 70100.

The car looks to be repainted root beer brown with gold pinstripe. Hence the name. Original color could be silver.

My plans are to keep it running until a major problem occurs. Once it's parked I'm gonna fully built the car. Right now it's got wiring issues, and cosmetics.

Specs:
Tilt wheel
Air conditioning
Power windows
Power brakes
Power seat
Power antenna
Floor shift automatic
Bucket seats
T-tops
Rally wheels

Nice find. Is there a Service Parts Identification label (SPID) under the trunklid? There's a paint code or two on the bottom of the decal (usually starts with "WAxxxx"). If it's there, please post that code(s), might be more than one, and we can decipher to see what the original factory color was.

Looks like Dark Red code 79 (WA8529) plus a gold accent striping (painted on from factory). The A8589

What's going on with the '61 Chevy and the Corvair?
