When I ordered my 87 442, I had asked if I could order it with the "big back window" was told NO. I also asked if I could order the burgundy interior in the black car, was again told NO. But I have since seen original Black 87 442's with burgundy interior, maybe when I ordered mine (Nov 29th 86) burgundy was not listed. I do think the Monte Aero window looks good (different is good).

From the July 25, 1986 printing of the 1987 Oldsmobile Dealer Ordering Guide, Burgundy interior was, in fact, not available as an interior color for black 442. It lists gray as the only interior option for black exterior. Burgundy was only available with burgundy exterior, and blue with blue, black or gray exterior with gray bronte-pattern cloth. For 85/86, you could get burgundy in a black 442.

I don't recall any black 87 442 with burgundy interior. I'd be curious to see one. Not saying they didn't revise the ordering book since July of '86, but so far all I've seen is burgundy/burgundy for 87 442. No black/burgundy.

And you are correct, no 86 or 87 442 could be had from the factory with the aero back window.

Have to say the conversion is different, but I've never cared for the aero window, even on the GPs and Montes.

Sure would've given Olds an edge on the track.

Looks like it may offer a larger trunk opening than the mail slot the Pontiac received.

I like it. I hope it gets finished.
Reminds me of that really nice GN-aero conversion over on maliburacing.
Might have to pop over there and see if it ever got finished...

Oh my. I think I like it.
Maybe its because of how much better the Arecoupe glass flow with the Cutlass' taillights. I also like the fact that this is T Top Euro.
Id love to see it finished and then painted back to a factory color again. I bet it would draw quite a crowd at the Nationals.

And for those who are wondering, 702 area code is Nevada.

The Pontiac window was designed for racing and used in production models, the Monte version was designed for production models and used for racing. The Pontiac's design did better on the track

Gotta be honest here, I'm not a fan. I don't think it flows with the lines of the car. One of my favourite features of our cars has always been the notchback styling. To each their own tho.
