I thought in '88, caprice sedans came with 700r4 transmissions and wagons came with 2004r transmissions
I could be mistaken, but I thought the V6 and 350 models had the 700r4, and the 305 had the 200-4R.

Small update, but the rust in the trunk was taken care of.

It was a small hole, in the wheel well, but would have failed safety had my friend not welded it up.

Will be coating the trunk entirely, but for now, it's structurally good.

Just a note, the floor pans of these cars if almost exactly the same from 77-96 if you need floor parts.

"What the f*** is the point of driving, if the ride doesn't reflect the person behind the wheel?"

Boy - what's that got to say about me??

I always liked to old Impalas and Caprice especially the 2 doors. I've had quite a few of them, but it's the SS's I remember. Here's one I would buy if it wasn't so pricey.

Thanks for the insight Jim, chances are the floor pans will need replacing, but I refuse to pull up the carpet until the car becomes certified lmaooo.

Ahahah, very nice ride my friend!

And same here, I wish I could find a coupe Caprice, but even a sedan is rare to come by here in Ontario.
