A neighbor of mine came across a 1990. S15 Jimmy 4wd 5 speed. It’s extremely clean, but it’s been sitting a while and hasn’t been run in a while. The fan shroud is off and the radiator hoses are disconnected from the rad. I’m thinking about buying it but I have no clue where these things are in value. The body and interior are great. The top surfaces are failing. Trying to figure out the bottom and ceiling.

I had that same truck quite a while ago, the 5 speed made it much more fun to drive and tow with. Probably the 2.8ltr V6, good running engine. Mine was very reliable and was still running strong when I traded it in for a full size ‘89 Bronco XLT.

For reference, a pristine under 100k mile version just sold 2 days ago on bring a trailer to the snob crowd under $7000.

Things disconnected, not in driving condition, and needing significant deferred maintenance from sitting for a long time I'd peg it in the $2k to $3k range.

You factor the cost of new tires, rubber brake lines, misc parts, and the real time value of what labor charges are per hour to do it all and that seems fair to me.

I was thinking $500.

Doesn't hurt to try, but, a rust free 4x4 with great interior and a couple hundred thousand mile durability engine.... I dunno.

Now, if it was a 2000s model you'd be in the ballpark at $500 for sure. Those are plastic throwaway junkers. But desirability on those 1st gen s10/s15 trucks is up there these days, and inflation isn't helping.

Being that it's 4x4 and a 5 speed, 1k I'd say is fair. If they tow it to your place.

Pull the oil cap and see if it looks like a milkshake inside. The 2.8l had intake gasket issues and would put coolant into the crankcase. They pulled the hose and parked it for a reason
