So i picked up a 200-4r trans dirt cheap, but cant find much info on it...... the tag shows it being a KTF model. only info i could find on it is that it possibly cam out of a Caddy with a 307. is it worth rebuilding to put behind my big block olds or should i just find a better core?

Any 200-4R can be built up with performance and longevity upgrades. Of course, the performance models have the better governor and valvebody....and use a higher stall converter.
Get yourself a book on it and educate yourself as much as you can.
I have a low performance (CTF) trans much like yours, but I intend to make the necessary upgrades when I finally get around to it.

You're welcome, man.
Do you plan on building it yourself, or contract someone to build it for you?
You can purchase the ATSG manual on the 200-4R. There's a ton of information on the internet on this trans.

I'm going to have RPM Performance here in Indy build it for me. I know little to nothing about transmissions.

Make absolutely sure these guys are reputable 2004r builders or you could be throwing your money away.

I'm not familiar with them...however, just do your research and check out their reputation before committing.
