i'm about to order a 200 4R and suddenly realized I'm not sure if its better to get the universal bell housing or the specific. I think it's called the BOM or POC or similar. Does it matter?

BOP= Burick, Olds, Ponchiac. They're different than Chevy. There's also a few universal/dual pattern units out there, but don't know if they're available aftermarket. The pattern you buy is dependent upon the engine and/or future engine plans.

My 86' Regal came with an Olds 307 and a dual pattern 200R4 which made my SBC swap a simple bolt on for the trans and that is the only design I would want.

My current motor is a 305, but I plan to swap a to a 350, but not more than 300 HP. Thanks for the responses.
Is there a way to Identify which one I get once its delivered? Or to make sure its at least Chevy small block comparable?

All my 200-4R's were BOP only. I have yet to see a dual pattern BOP/Chevy bellhousing.
