My attention has been taken away from the Monte as of recently because of the newest addition to the fleet. I picked up a low mileage 2002 Dodge Ram Sport 2500 4x4 with the 24v 5.9 Cummins. The engine has about 30k miles on it after the build up. Build up included:
66mm ATS turbo with 60psi waste gate
AFE intake
decks were fire ringed
head studs
coolant bypass in cylinder head
3 piece ATS exhaust manifold
5 inch turbo back exhaust with muffler delete
aftermarket intercooler
Bully Dog Watch Dog tuner
AirDog II 165 lift pump
New Roadripper2000 transmission
Rebuilt T-case
billet axles(abs delete)
4:10 gears with lockers
The truck is lifted 3" in the front and 1" in the rear and sits on 35"s with 16" American Racing beadlock rims
It needs a few things here and there like a front suspension rebuild, new headlights, reverse lights wired up with new transmission, and I gotta patch the hole that the previous owner cut in the bed for a stupid *ss stack but its an absolute blast to drive. Engine builder said the engine should put down right around 1000 lbs-ft of torque easily. Oh and did I mention it gets 18mpg city?!

I went diesel power last year!...MY choice was 2002 GMC LB7!! I will admit I am running EFI stage 2 along with a Allison rebuild to 1k HP ETC ETC... OLD DAISY runs right along with the big dogs!!

Those LB7s are powerhouses! I wanted an LB7 but couldnt find one in my price range. The only negative I have about this truck is that around 45mph when it shifts into overdrive if there is any and I mean ANY rain or snow on the road you are going sideways. It doesnt matter how much throttle you are giving it. It also has the typical Dodge steering issues that I am going to fix with a new adjustable trackbar, Skyjacker steering stabilizer, and the steering box support bracket.

I also found out that the previous owner deleted the grid heater so cold starts are a b*tch! This friday is supposed to be record lows for us so it will be fun to see how she starts at work where I cant plug it in!

I bought mine about a year ago and if I wanted I could sell it exactly for what I paid for now... I hear you about traction issues I can romp on it at highway speeds and go sideways if traction is subpar! I've outran quite a few newer dodge's and way newer fords but the most fun is giving "muscle" cars a run for their money!! especially imports! Old daisy was a working truck before I bought her and I must admit the most she will do is tow my GP around town!! I plan on trying to do a 12 second truck and maybe lifting her! I can squeeze about 18-20 if I can keep the pedal from being floored! Nice truck and enjoy it I plan on keeping and upgrading mine seeing as I hope to keep it for a very long time....lol!
here is a vid when I took her to bandimere...

I got my new headlights and fog lights in. The fog lights are halo projectors with a tinted lens to match the headlights. I will have to get a photo at dark.
