200r or 350 trans.

no fuss huh?? sh*t I hate when I hear that. Usually means scraped knuckles, swear words and a boat load of brew. :lol: But hey...could I find one at a junkyard? they warranty their stuff. Then if and when it goes I should be able to rebuild it cheaply right?
 
so where do you suggest I get the th350?? junkyard? craigslist?

if the yard offers a warranty ... otherwise, I'd prefer to get it from a private individual. Remember if you got an Olds or Buick in there you need a B-O-P (or uni-bell) th350, or you have to use a Chev-B.O.P. adapter. I prefer something IN a running car, so you can drive it and make sure it's not slipping.

Crossmember, trans mount, convert to TV cable setup (includes brackets on intake/transmission), shifter for OD, hook up a torque converter lockup (fairly sure the th200c -was non-lockup but I am not 100% sure), new cooler lines .... your's is an 83 (if I recall) so it should have the factory 200-4r mounting points already. I'd also recomend replacing shifter/column cables just about any time you have a transmission out. Also new U-joints never hurt.

nope i have a 86 but nope to the 200r4 then. to much sh*t to do. I want a bolt in like the one I have now. Seems the th350 unibell is my only option without going bannanas and doing all kind of mods.
 
Just go with the 350 seems to be a better choice. I am!!!
 
i may just do that. just hope because i have a columun shifter theres no issues
 
trying to find a uni-bell or dual bolt pattern th350 mind be a tad unnerving. Just make sure it has the B-O-P pattern. the ONLY uni-bell th350, I've ever seen was in my 81 .... I'd have put it in the same catagory as SWM 403 and 442 cid Oldsmobiles .... had I not seen one with my own eyes.
 
how will i no if its uni bell or whatever you said. ?
