I have an older 3 inch exhaust system that uses a ball&spigot connector. I am trying to hook it up to 3 inch flange headers. I need a slip-joint connector that slides over the 3 inch pipe and bolts up to the flat flange of the headers. Look at the photos, they show what I am trying to assemble, thanks
I searched forums and google without luck, but it's got to be somewhere.
If I'm reading your post correctly you are looking to connect from the flat faced header to your current system correct?
Look to Summit racing for their header collectors, it will require cutting the socket end off the existing system to attach the new header reducers.
Yes, I want to remove the slip-on spigot bell on the 3-inch Magnaflow setup and replace with a slip-on 3" flange fitting. I have found a photo of what I am seeking but apparently they don't make them any more. I cannot find another example, even at Summit/Speedway etc.
For what is worth, If the Summit brand 3 inch reducers were the right length do you have a local muffler shop that would be able to expand the one end to give the slip fit?
I've had tail pipe extensions done that way around my area and the cost was always around $5.00-10.00 depending on how bust the shop was.
On a side note, Wesdon exhaust shown above has them on their web site, might be worth contacting them to see if they are making them available again.
If they are sold, Summit has a welded 12 inch long X 3.00 pipe header extensions that a local muffler shop may be able to open up the one end for the slip fit.. Would make it the same as the Wesdon part above.
thanks Bob, I like your idea and will swing by my old muffler place to see if they have a pipe expander. I have one but it does not go to 3+ inches. As soon as I have mufflers I can fire up my 462 El Camino
thanks hmmm that looks like an adapter that would work. I need something that goes inside or outside 3 inch pipe and hooks up with the spigot fitting. Seems like a spigot to flange adapter would be common since headers/exhaust use one or the other.
