You mean it's not worth $3000 with a blown 3-8? GTFO! Nice score.
88hurstolds ,that Can-Am is awesome beyond belief. I just saw one recently in my travels, but about the same shape as you started with.
I've wanted one since I first saw one in 2007.
One came up local to me that was from Wyoming and a factory high altitude Olds 403 car. They used Olds for High Altitude and California emissions. I had a 403 that was done up with 430hp 471ftlb and scoured the internet for parts to make my own. I love the TH2004R 3.73posi setup used in VIN9 cars and t tops are a must for me, tossed in a set of Lightning Rods too.
The compacti-color white firethorn interiors are awesome looking so I did that mod too. I restored everything except for the body, liked the patina and once you paint a car you worry too much about it getting boogered up. One day Ill repaint. Found a bunch of NOS parts for it too, stuff for these cars are nonexistent since they only produced 25k in 1977 vs. the million of Cutlasses so it was challenging to find stuff.
The body was solid except a little in the quarters, about 20 pounds of dirt was packed in the frame from gravel roads, I have NOS quarters and all nice western sheet metal to repaint one day...

Galaxy far far away
Beautiful low mileage 442 with a beef jerky steering wheel, no headliner and a hacked LS swap.

Last year I saw a red Cutlass for sale at someone's house for $40k. Had a LS swap with the hood crudely hammered for clearance bumps for the engine. Seems a lot of people falsely believe a POS junkyard LS engine and / or garbage Ebay turbo will add a couple of zeros to the price of a crapped out car.

The mid 70's A bodies were meh to me, big and underwhelming. But this Can Am is neat. I had no idea they also had the 403 in these cars, I like your powertrain the best👍.

I was trying to put a price on this one and there really isn't one. Back in like 99'/2000-ish you might come across a semi decent beater G-body for cheap. Too far gone or messed with(like this one) to bother restoring but at $500-$3500 bucks it was worth it to daily and drive into the ground and do some burnouts in. This car is the 'tweener' I always aimed for my car to not be. It's over-invested in all the wrong ways.

The wizard is fairly local to me. Hoovie keeps him on his toes with the stuff he takes him.

I feel targeted.
Not at all. I consider it hacked because it has a carburetor with a single plane manifold and no AC. My guess is the oil pan also hangs below the crossmember 🙄. As you know I have an LS in my 442 and I am a proponent of swapping.

I was just kidding. But, there is a spectrum of swap quality.

I like watching the wizard but hoovie’s facial expressions and drama drives me crazy. It is funny though how he calls his channel the dumbest channel on YouTube. Lol 😆
