350 swap???

What kind of 350? There are 5 possibilities: Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac or the rare 1957 Mopar 350 ( one year only) based on the early B wedge. I assume it's one of the 4 GM ones ( but I couldn't resist!)

Well, before choosing the right headers, it is important to consider the actual use of the car when it is complete. The primary tube size should be matched to the intended RPM range of the engine and the car's actual use, not necessarily the most bad *ss sounding race headers that may not produce optimal torque for the given application. It's a SBC, so everyone produces headers for it and most offer several different choices for this engine/chassis combination. If it is mostly a street car with a mild cam and good idle characteristics, consider shorties instead of long tubes because the extra ground clearance will be more beneficial than any gains that may or may not be there in the longer tubes. Also, unless it is a fairly radical car, the TH400 will offer no benefits over a TH350 or an overdrive trans. If you are going to run the TH400, just remember that there are two different tailshaft and output shaft lengths with the longer of the two being in trucks and the shorter is from a passenger car.
