here's my delemma my 80 malibu is a orig 4speed car has the small bell housing i intend to ls swap this summer and wish to keep the manual clutch linkage since ls eng only came with large fly wheels my bellhousing won't work.the correct gbody bellhousing is as rare as hens teeth. i have a fbody bellhousing and mocked it up on an ls eng and looks like it will work if i cut the slave cyl mount off ( clutchfork at the right angle) anyone tried this?

Be aware that the steel bellhousings may need a slight alignment correction to the block. Check runout with a dial indicator attached to the flywheel. Offset alignment dowel pins are available.

On the fence about hydraulic clutch, never been a fan. don't hear alot of great things about hyd throw out bearing longevity. it will be the last resort. so i'm gonna be the guinea pig. the plan is 6.0l ls fbody bell housing manual linkage tweaked to fit hooker full length headers and a tr3650 5speed pics and details to follow

Use a regular Abody bellhousing have the pivot ball hole welded up and redrilled in the correct position.

Problem solved for less than 50 buxx

I don't know any car of today that uses a mechanical linckage for a clutch and those new cars come with a warranty, like Mike's Hellkitty. I dought they would put a hydraulic throw out bearing if the car id going to end up in the shop for warranty work. A local shop uses the Mcleod on every car that come in for work on the hydraulic clutch service and none have come back for warranty. That is the brand that I am using based on his recomendation

Well, I've been through Howe and RAM; maybe I should try the McLeod? $$$$$$$$

I have been througe Howe as well, cost me a new disk when it blew. We used the Howe on our circle track stock cars and they seem to handle the abuse but we only ran them one or two nites a week

what year f-body is the bellhousing for? if its for '84-'92 then its made for a camaro with hydraulic clutch that uses a slave cylinder, not a hydraulic throw out bearing.
