hey all! I have been looking around for a 4" cowl hood for my 1986 Monte Carlo SS... mostly only from glasstek/vfn right now, but I got a shipping quote and all I have to say is WOW.. I was looking to go with glasstek after loads of research... but shipping is too much! so I was wondering what you other southern Ontario folk do for cowl hoods? if you all just bit the bullet and paid the shipping from IL or if there was another good quality manufacture that people used from Ontario or somewhere closer... or cheaper anyways lol! I just have a hard time spreading my wallet that far open to find close to +800 bucks for a cowl hood.... was just wondering what others have done?

I have a Harwood 4" cowl "show series" hood, to avoid shipping costs (truck freight) on mine I ordered it through a local performance shop that gets regular shipments and then picked it up in my work truck.
I don't know if this is possible for you in Ontario but it saved me a lot of money, I know around here local performance shops are vanishing quickly.
I looked into Glasstek hoods at the same time and heard their stuff is nice but shipping even to MI. was quite expensive

I just emailed 2 local performance shops to see what they could do! hopefully they can get a better deal then what i was able to get lol! and yes I've read the same thing that glasstek has good hoods mostly complaint free.. except for the shipping cost part!
