406 SBC starter problems

Flexplate

Sounds stupid but I initially put the flex plate on backwards. Fortunately I found it before installing the engine. If it's on backwards, the teeth will be slightly further back from the block.

Well I’m taking y’all word and I ordered a flexplate yesterday from summit. It should arrive by the end of day on Wednesday so maybe on Thursday I’ll be able to work on that Hopefully I’ll have no more problems. Fingers crossed
