Would a rebuilt 200r4 transmission be strong enough to withstand a 455? Currently has built 403 with 200r4. But buying a 455 next week. And maybe another 200r4 for $150. Figured I could rebuild it and have it ready when I put the 455 in when that's done. Guy also has a th350 but I like that overdrive

If rebuilt to withstand the tourqe you will be fine. Plenty of gn peeps that swapped out to bbb 455 using the 200r4

They are getting tougher to find as time goes by. Cores go for about that in my area.

Alright. Maybe just pick that up and try to get a better deal. Are they difficult to rebuild? And any idea what kind of kit I would be looking to get?

I don't think they're any tougher to rebuild (as in replace worn parts) than any other GM transmission, but if you want it to last a good long time behind a BBO along with shifting at the RPM and firmness you desire, its probably best to have it built by one of the few guys who know these transmissions well.
