My 5.3 runs around 220 degrees at idle with 185 degree thermostat. Does that seem a bit hot to anyone? I checked my cooling system for leaks and there are none. The t-stat is brand new.

What fan(s) are you running? I have a cammed LM7 with a good sized stall converter and 80E trans....last year on hot summer days mine never went above 210. I'm running Champion radiator, stock thermostat, and dual fans controlled by ecm.

PCM tuned for fan on/off temps that match the thermostat?

Are you reading the temp with the PCM sensor that is in the head, an aftermarket gauge or one that is in the factory dash?
