If you just want to change the ball, there's more than one size available, need to confirm what your current thread size is. Browse the Holley website for balls or sticks=

I use a thread pitch gage out of my tap and die set in cases like this. Stand by for metric…

Is the 5-speed in your car from the factory or a later conversion? The factory T-50 5-speed was available from 1976 to 1979 in the Cutlass models. The shifter used was an internal rail system with no exterior linkage. The stick was fairly thick and the shifter ball on top was a press fit, not a screw-on, unless the shaft was modified to accept a screw-on knob.

both, my 78 salon and 79 calais, have threaded shifter shafts that i was able to mount new aftermarket knobs onto. i don't remember the thread size or pitch. the generic knobs came with the correct shift pattern and a selection of adapter inserts to mount the new knobs. i'll see if i can find more info or pics.

The transmission was changed to A tremec 5 speed from the factory 5 speed

You will need to remove your current shifter ball and measure. I see you have a hurst shifter lever. idk if they kept it all the same or if there were different sizes.
