So I bought a eaton G80 posi unit with all the seals and bearings, from a friend. It was never installed. The problem is the differential cross pin is missing. I called the all the after market company's and nobody makes one for a 7.5 inch posi. I called Eaton direct and they told me to call the dealer. The dealer told me they only have a listing for an 8.5 posi, and that the only thing for a 7.5 specifically states that it's for open carriers. he said that its possible that the part number was left off when they updated the catalog, and that an open 7.5 pin may work. Anyone come across this ? any one happen to have one? Thanks in advance.

I really don't know enough about Posi units to be helpful here.
Hell, I wouldn't even attempt installing one... thats a "gonna have that done" thing.

Go to the junkyard and grab one from an S10 or GBody and see if it fits. Cheapest option.

Got a picture of the unit you have? I have my factory unit open right now and the pin out. I can measure it and let you know if the other would work.

If you bought a new setup, I’m assuming you’re replacing your existing one. Pull your pin and put it in your new carrier and see if it works. Got to start somewhere. Good luck.

for those cross pins I like using a brake bleeder wrench cause it has a 6 point 5/16" for the head of the pin

That's a good point about the six point wrench. which makes me ask did you get that bolts as well as the spider gears or did you only get the carrier?

that's confusing, looked up G80 and that is the Gov Lok and had to look the old G80 to find the posi you have. I guess GM ran out of codes.... :wtf:
