Recently came into possession of my grandfather's 1978 Lemans that he bought new in 78. Always garage kept, 99% rust free. I'm looking to clean this up and cruise around in it mainly. Not really looking to hot rod it. Came with a CSB 305 from factory. Not the most ideal power plant, but workable.

Any thoughts are appreciated on what direction I should take with this gem from the late 70's.

Huh?

I'm with TURNA- Pontiac 455. Okay, maybe a little different, but deffinitely Pontiac power and anything but an LS.

Right now I'm just looking to get it on the road and do upgrades as I can afford them. This will be a work in progress but something I want to document along the way via this forum. Would like to keep it as an automatic. Also, car has factory A/C that I would like to keep as a creature comfort as well. Would this be able to coincide with a Pontiac crate motor?

Recently, I've getting more and more giddy about seeing survivor cars. I'd clean it up and get everything mechanically sound and just drive it like it is. Let the family heirloom story carry it.

Well at least you already have a 305 in it so a 350 chevy can just drop right in without doing any changes.

And no one would even know unless you told them!!

MORE PICSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great score! Welcome to the forum.
I too would like to see more pics of the car inside and out.
Take good care of it and make grandpa proud.
